Ingredients:

2 cups of Flour       2 Tbsps. Cream of Tartar

2 cups of Water      2 Tbsps. Vegetable Oil

Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl. Add the vegetable oil. Bring the water to a boil in a pan. Add water to the dry ingredients bowl and mix together. Turn out onto wax paper. Cool and knead the dough. Store play dough in a covered container or plastic bag. This requires no refrigeration and is not sticky. For a brown color, add cocoa powder. This also  makes is smell like chocolate. To add other scents to other colors, use one package of unsweetened Kool Aid. This recipe makes one batch. You will need to make two batches for class.

How to Dress for Success in Preschool:

Preschool is the perfect environment for exploring new concepts and trying new activities. The goal of KOG Preschool is to ensure every child feels confident about exploring the world around them. Parents can help in building this confidence by following the tips below.

  1. Make sure your child is dressed for mess. If children need to worry about their clothes getting dirty, they cannot focus on trying new things such as paints, markers, stampers or the art of digging in the sand.
  2. Dress children in close-toed shoes with socks. This is for safety purposes as well as for comfort.
  3. Many times there will be art projects and notices sent home. The tote bag your child received at the beginning of the year is perfect for getting all important items safely home. Please check it on a regular basis so you do not miss any important news.

Tips for Lunches brought to Lunch Bunch:

When parents pack a lunch for Lunch Bunch, they should keep these things in mind.

  • KOG Preschool strives to be a NUT FREE environment due to allergies. Please do not include peanut butter or other nut lunch items. Sun butter may be used.
  • Put food items in easy to open bags or containers so children can be independent when packing up their lunch.
  • Use items that do not need to be heated and feel free to use ice packs to keep food cold.
